A police officer testing and subsequent hiring list was established in <br />March, 1999. The top two candidates were current part-time Officers Jeff Johnson and Tony <br />Wittke. A final interview was conducted showing the top two candidates were still Jeff Johnson <br />and Tony Wittke, in that order. Both officers have proven to be productive, dependable <br />employees whom get along well with co-workers. Both will make excellent full-time police <br />officers for Orono. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Request appointment of Jeff Johnson and Tony Wittke to the full-time police officer <br />positions effective January 1, 2000 at starting pay rate level of $14.41 per hour plus benefits.
