r <br />Request for Council Action continued <br />Page 2 <br />October 20, 1999 <br />Resolution in Support of Cooperative Efforts Among the Lake Area Cities to Meet the Area's <br />Housing Needs ______________________________ <br />The representatives also agreed that the first step toward implementing the Statement of Purpose is <br />to conduct a housing needs assessment to identify the current and projected housing needs of the <br />lake area. Information on specific housing needs will assist the cities in focusing their cooperative <br />housing efforts. A resolution supporting the Statement of Purpose and authorizing the City <br />Administrator and other interested appointed and elected officials of the City to continue their <br />involvement in cooperative housing efforts, particularly an assessment of specific housing needs in <br />the City of Orono and the lake area, is attached for Council consideration. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Motion to adopt the attached resolution in support of a Statement of Purpose to guide the <br />cooperative housing efforts in the lake area, and to authorize the continued involvement of the City <br />in cooperative housing efforts in the lake area.
