COMMUNITIES IN COLLABORATION COUNCIL <br />1999-2000 GOALS <br />MISSION: <br />Promote collaborative planning and development among all ^pects of the community <br />to build assets* for our youth and families. <br />* Assets are defined as the 40 developmental assets established by the Search Institute of Minneapoiis, <br />activity, possession or use of a weapon). <br />Goal <br />ClCC will solicit applicants for <br />Local Collaborative Time <br />Study grants, review grant <br />proposals and approve <br />dissemination of remaining <br />"rant money. <br />Asset Focus <br />All 40 assets <br />ClCC will sponsor a Train the <br />Trainer conference to: <br />1. ) Provide community <br />members with information <br />about asset development <br />and <br />2. ) equip them with specific <br />id^ and methods to <br />increase the assets among <br />the youth with whom they <br />work or relate. <br />All 40 assets <br />Action <br />A minimum of 5 community <br />groups or organizations wnll <br />submit grant proposals which <br />focus on Learning & Family <br />Support Systems. Physical & <br />Mental Health Services, <br />Violence <br />Prevention/Community Safety <br />or Asset Building in Youth. <br />1. ) ISO people representing <br />all areas of the <br />community (schools, faith <br />communities, parents, <br />businesses, government, <br />etc.) will attend the <br />conference. <br />2. ) Each attendee of the <br />conference will, in <br />turn, conduct at <br />least one asset <br />building training <br />session for the <br />community or <br />organization that <br />he/she represents._____ <br />Outcome <br />After one year, each <br />grantee demonstrates <br />specific outcomes that <br />show progress towards <br />their stated goal. <br />There is a increased <br />knowledge base for asset <br />development within the <br />community measured by <br />the actual number of <br />conference participants <br />and by the number of <br />community residents they, <br />in turn, train in asset <br />development. <br />ClCC will cosponsor the <br />Parenting Forum and the <br />Parenting with Vision series <br />that will address a wide variety <br />of parenting issues. <br />All 40 assets SOO parents from the Wayzata <br />School District will attend the <br />Saturday morning Parenting <br />Forum and an average of 200 <br />parents will attend each <br />single*speaker lecture in the <br />Parenting with Vision series. <br />Parents are equipped with <br />specific models to decrease <br />high-risk behavior patterns <br />and an increase the assets <br />of the youth in the <br />Wayzata School district <br />ClCC wiU publish a <br />ncwslctter/events calendar <br />focused on community <br />activities for families 8 times <br />in 1999-2000 school year. <br />ClCC will secure funding for <br />$13,920 (from cities, other <br />supporting members and <br />grants) for general operating <br />support and approx. $20,000 <br />for special program support <br />(newsletter, F--renting with <br />Vision and Parenting Forum) <br />Asset #7: <br />Young people perceive that <br />community adults value <br />youth. <br />Asset #8; <br />Young people are given useful <br />roles in the community. <br />Asset #9; <br />Young person serves in the <br />community 1 hr or more per <br />week. <br />All 40 assets <br />8.000 families within the <br />ClCC service area will receive <br />the newsletter. <br />Participation in fiunily- <br />related community <br />activities increases. <br />ClCC will submit grant <br />requests to each city and <br />organization represented by <br />ClCC for general operating <br />support. ClCC will submit <br />grant proposals to specific <br />funders for program support. <br />ClCC’s initiatives result in <br />the decrease of high-risk <br />behavior among the youth <br />of the Wayzata School <br />District as shown through <br />the results of the <br />Minnesota Survey and <br />Search Institute Survey.
