Cni iMniL meeting
July 29.1999
AUG 0 9 1999
Cl IY Ut- UttUNU
Ron Moorse
City Administrator
City of Orono
PO Box 66
Crystal Bay, MN 55323 i»» •
Dear Mr. Moorse;
Enclosed is our proposal to the City of Orono for year 2000 funding for Interfaith
Outreach and Community Partners in the amount of $2000.
We have detailed for you the progress made in 1998 and the first half of 1999 through the
efforts of lOCP. Goods and services provided to Orono residents have been quantified
along with the corresponding budgetary implications. Please note that lOCP spent $7,539
on goods and services assisting residents of Orono in 1998. We continue to work with
families and individuals to address multiple barriers as they strive to achieve self-
sufficiency. Our holistic approach to assistance is based on the understanding that all
issues and barriers must be addressed simultaneously to enable families to achieve
stability and financial independence.
While Orono residents make up a small percentage of lOCP clients, please note that both
the quantity of services sought and the lOCP financial commitment for Orono residents
tripled in 1998, over 1997. We are asking each of the cities in our service area to
consider providing support for lOCP services for its residents. We have been fortunate
to receive past and current financial support from the Cities of Plymouth and Medina,
utilized by lOCP to provide goods and services for their citizens.
Our commitment and assistance lo the citizens of Orono continues to grow. We hope
that the City of Orono will consider joining in support of the efforts of lOCP. I would be
happy to meet with you and/or members of the Orono City Council to discuss ways in
which lOCP can be of even greater assistance to you in your efforts to maintain a high
quality of life for all Orono citizens.
Thank you for giving our proposal your kind consideration.
Sincerely,
LaDonna Hoy, Executive Director
INTERFAITH OUTREACH AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS
110 Grand Avenue South, Wayzata, Minnesota 55391-1872 612/473-2436 Fax 612/473-4337
i
