Members volunteered 321 hours to plan deportment operations and tr^ings,
direct the ReUef Association and plan fundraising events.
The second quarter provided many exceUent training activities, including the MN Slate Fire School in St. Paul, a multi-dci^ent auto accident, vehicle fire,
auto extrication and medical exercise outside Maple Plain that simulated a multi-car pile-up on Hrvy. 12 under foggy conditions, Fu« Responder Refiresher
and Accountability training. Two members have also started the Emagency Medical Technician (EMT) class. Foam training was taught
by an outside instnictor utilizing our new utility truck (U-11) as a training tool.
Volunteer activities included station clean-up, comportment labeling, preparing the new utility for service, preparation and testing of the new physical ability
test, equipment testing, installation of a sound system in the fire house, preparing E-12 for tank repairs and painting, medical standby at Schumann
elementary and Buckhom Days, a Teambuilding exercise at Camp Diduhapi, Memorial Day activities, Robert Benson's funeral, a pool fill and the
dedication of Wolsfeld Cabin in Medina.
The number of colls were up from the fust quarter, 79 caUs required 1,(132 hours from deportment members. Mutual aid was both given (to Woyzato for a
fire) and received (from Hamel for a house fire).
Looking nbrnd to the third quarter should give (he members a little break with some Monday evenings with no activity planned in order for firefighters
to spend some time with family and friends during the Minnesota summer. The department is plonning to take the Studebaker, and possibly the new
utiUty truck (U-11), to three parades in July; Delano's Fourth of July Parade, Hamel's Rodeo Parade and the Watertown Fire Muster Parade. Tlicse are
good opportunities for the members to enjoy some comeraderie, show off our equipment and build rclaationships with sunotmding conmmnities
and their fire departmen'.s.
