DNR/Longridge Conveyance <br />August 4,1999 <br />Page 2 <br />( I <br />Future Use of Conveyed Parcel <br />The conveyed parcel consists of a 20'-30' high embankment split by a steep driveway, plus flat land <br />above it adjacent to the Trail. Due to the configuration of Orono Orchard Road and the steep banks, <br />this is not a safe location for a driveway access that would have vehicles exiting on a regular basis. <br />Longridge may be contemplating use of this for future access to their land west of the golf course. <br />The City has advised Longridge in the past that this is not an acceptable access for their land west <br />of the golf course. It is important that Ae City's position on this be strongly reinforced in relation <br />to the conveyance. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Authorize staff to advise the County that the City will not contest the division as long as legal <br />combination occurs. Direct staff to advise Longridge of City concerns regarding use of this parcel <br />for vehicular access to Orono Orchard Road.
