CITY OF EXCELSIOR <br />339 THIRD STREET <br />EXCELSIOR, MINNESOTA 55331 <br />TELE: 612-474-5233 <br />June 23, 1999 <br />TO:Whom It May Concern <br />FROM: Charlie Thomson, Excelsior City Council Member <br />Thank you for reading the resolution regarding stadium financing that was adopted by the <br />Excelsior City Council on June 21,1999. <br />There was one additional point that I would have added to the resolution, and it was agreed to by <br />all but one of the councilmembers. It was not included m the resolution, however, as we sought <br />unanimity. This point was as follows: <br />"The Excelsior City Council suggests that professional sports get their fiscal houses in <br />order, including the establishment of such measures as revenue sharing, within their <br />leagues." <br />fhis idea has been suggested by the Governor and the Mayor of Minneapolis; and Joe Soucheray <br />and Pat Reusse, of KSTP-AM fame. They all seem to agree that a new stadium won’t forestall <br />money problems for the Twins. <br />iI
