This report describes four
alternatives for providing an outlet for the lake. As we discussed at our April 2,1999
meeting, I am requesting that you review it and return any comments to me for
incorporation into the final report. Copies of the draft report have also been sent to
Ms. Terry Ankeny of the Mooney Lake Association and Mr. Douglas Dayton, a
resident of Orono whose property would be afifected by Option 1 at their request.
We are particularly interested in your city’s comments related to the need for the outlet
project and opinions for how the project, if it goes forward, should be funded. You J
note that four options for funding are Usted on page 8 of the report. We look forward
to your response.
If you have any questions or comments, please call me at 471-6285.
Sincerely,
MINNEHAHA CREEK WATERSHED DISTRICT
Peter Cangialo^P.E.
District Engineer
C:Fred Moore
Loren Kohnen
Teny Schwalbe
L.
