REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
COMMr:ii meeting
JUN ^ 4 1999
t ur UHONO
DATE: June 9,1999
ITEM NO: ^ (b
Department Approval:Administrator Reviewed:Agenda Section:
Name Ron Moorse City Administrator's
Title City Administrator Report
Item Description: Appointment of Part-Time Police Records Clerk
During the leave of absence of the City's full-time Police Records Clerk, the City hired Adrienne
Madson to fill in on a temporary basis through a temporary employment agency. She has done an
outstanding job during this time. When Carol Hansing resigned and the part-time Police Records
Clerk position became available, Adrienne was the top candidate.
The City’s contract with the temporary employment agency requires that, if the City hires a person
during or immediately following the placement of that person with the City, the City will pay a fee
of $1,000 to the temporary agency. Given the cost of advertising for the position and the amount of
staff time required to conduct a selection process, the $1,000 fee is a reasonable amount.
COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED:
Motion to approve the appointment of Adrienne Madson to the position of Part-Time Police Records
Cleric at a pay rate of $10.54 per hour, in the Level 3 part-time position pay range, effective June 7,
1999; and to authorize the payment of the $1,000 fee to the temporary employment agency.
