100rwAfis add to the dangers and increase delays, both for Woodhill members and for the general <br />public driving on County Road 15. <br />WOODHILL COUNTRY CLUB ’S CUP AMENDMENT PROPOSAL <br />In its proposed amendment to its 1968 Conditional Use permit. Woodhill Country Club <br />has proposed reestablishing regular vehicular traffic on its Woodhill Avenue access. In <br />connection with this proposal. Woodhill Country Club has proposed the following <br />configuration: <br />1 A gravel driveway approximately 20-22' in width from its maintenance building to <br />the existing bituminous pavement on Woodhill Avenue. <br />2. <br />3. <br />4 <br />A gate at the western edge of its property to be dosed when access is not available. <br />A 10 mile per hour speed limit. Signs in both directions. <br />A no left-turn sign at the intersection of Woodhill wenue and the private road to the <br />Woodhill Ridge development. <br />A stop sign for westbound traffic on Woodhill Avenue at the intersection of the <br />Woodhill Ridge development. <br />A stop sign for eastbound traffic on Woodhill Avenue at the intersection of the <br />Woodhill Ridge private road, with a stop ahead sign placed in advance for <br />eastbound Woodhill Avenue motorists. <br />A stop sign on the north side of Woodhill Avenue at the intersection of Woodliill <br />Avenue and Orono Orchard Road for westbound motorists. <br />8.A painted bar line on the western end of Woodhill Avenue to indicate the stopping <br />position at the intersection of Woodhill Avenue and Orono Orchard Road, together <br />with lane division line 50 ’ feet back from the bar line. <br />Woodhill proposes the following restrictions on the use of its Woodhill Avenue access; <br />1. The hours of access will be limited to 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the days that <br />Woodhill Country Club is open. The Club is open 6 days a week, being <br />closed on Monday (unless Monday is a holiday, in which case it is closed on <br />Tuesday). It is closed during the month of March. <br />2. No commercial, delivery, taxi, or service vehicles will be permitted access. <br />3. Woodhill will permit use of the Woodhill Avenue access only to members <br />and invited guests during the hours described above. <br />4. Access by emergency vehicles will be allowed at all times. <br />5. General use of the access will be permitted if the access to County Road 15 <br />is temporarily blocked. <br />TRAFFIC AND SAFETY IMPACT OF PROPOSED CUP AMENDMENT <br />Traffic Volumes <br />Traffic counts were taken by the City of Orono on Woodhill Road in September and <br />October of 1998.
