General Land Use Plan <br /> <br /> <br />City of Orono Community Management Plan 2020-2040 Part 3B, Page 25 <br />EMPLOYMENT <br /> <br />Employment levels in the City have grown slowly, and are expected to remain static over the next two <br />decades, as shown in Figure 3B-1 below and Table 3B-1. <br /> <br /> <br />Figure 3B-1 Employment <br /> <br />As illustrated in Figure 3B-2, Education services are highest employer by industry at 32% of all jobs in <br />Orono. Retail trade is the third highest employer at 15% of jobs. The City anticipates employment growth <br />to occur as existing businesses evolve and grow.
