(g) Council authorized the expenditure, approved the budget amendment and transfer amendments of $33,338 on 7/13/98. (h) TTie budget amendment includes a carry forward from the 1997 budget, in the amount of $19,480, approved by Council on 5/11/98. The additional $1,255 is to fund lumber for the project, purchased directly by the City. (i) Council approved the project and the budget amendment in the amount of $60,000, on 9/28/98. Through the end of 1998 the expenditures total $49,740, leaving a budget balance of $10,260. 0)The fund was created in 1997. The amendments are required because revenues and expenditures are not budgeted during the normal budget process. The fund is subject to wide fluctuations of both revenues and expenditures. The expenditures in 1998 were for: (1) Costs incurred prior to sale of confiscated property, usually automotive equipment, $905. (2) Council approved the purchase of a bicycle and budget amendment in the amount of $919, on %I2AI9%. COUnJCIL ACTION REQUESTED; Approval of the 1998 budget amendments for the General and Special Revenue Funds as presented; to be effective December 31, 1998; and that $40,000 of the Improvement and Equipment Capital Outlay Fund budget amended on 12/14/98, for the telephone system project, be transferred to the 1999 Building Outlay Fund budget. 1
