This letter is in response to the memo that I receix cd about a public hearing notice in reference to the proposed revision to the Orono Zoning Code Section 10.26, subdix ision 3 regarding the LR-lC-1 One Family Lakesliore Residential Subdistrict. 1 xvill not be able to attend this public hearing on Feb. 16th. Orono should reverse the decrease in dxxclling unit dcnsitx' that it had previously pa.sscd. 1 lixe in the Navarre area and most all of the lots are betxveen 50 to 1 00 feet in xvidth. This area has a problem xvith hard cover and drainage due to the amount of homes, garages, drix'exvax’s. decks and other stnictures on each property. This is something that I xx ould not xxant to happen in other areas around the lake. It’s much less expensive for all inx’oix-ed to prex ent the situation before it happens than after the fact. .Another factor in this is having your neighbors too close to each other. \’ou don’t feel that you can entertain company in the xxann months outside xvith out up-setting your neighbors. The adviitional noise from talking, children play ing, anvi lack of additional parking for gue.sts does aiuioy neighbors. How many of these area have adequate space for xxell xxaler ;ind septic? W'oidd additional hard coxer eftect the erosion of properly and cause additional pollution of the lake? If people feel that they have lost part of their inx estment because they can not sub-dix ide in the future, they should hux e purchased fann land away from the lake area years ago. Thai's where the high density land dexelopmenls belong, not in the lake area. With this being "The Lake Mimtetonka .Aiea" it should remain a .suburban setting, not something that's turned into an area like PlN tnouth.
