In order for the City to provide this <br />benefit to its employees, the City needs to adopt a flexible compensation plan that meets the <br />requirements of the Internal Revenue Code. The City has had a flexible compensation plan in place <br />for a number of years. The plan is administered by a third party administrator on a contractual basis. <br />Effective January 1,1999, the City contracted with a new firm (DCA) for the administration of the <br />plan. As part of this change, DCA has prepared an updated flexible compensation plan document <br />for City adoption. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Motion to adopt a resolution adopting the City of Orono flexible compensation plan, and authorizing <br />the Mayor and City Administrator to sign the flexible compensation plan document.
