Non-Union Pay Levels and Pay Ranges for 2001 <br />The Council has previously approved an increase in the City’s insurance contribution from $370.00 <br />per month to $410.00 per month. <br />Staff is recommending a 3.25% increase in the non-union pay schedules. <br />Compensation Adjustment Criteria <br />Compensation adjustments are based on two criteria, the cost of living increase and market <br />comparisons. <br />1. <br />2. <br />Cost of living increase. <br />a. U.S. Consumer Price Index: annualized increase frr m October 1999 - October 2000 <br />is 3.4%. <br />b. Minneapolis/St. Paul Consumer Price Index: annualized increase from the first half <br />of 1999 to the first half of2000 is 4.2%. <br />Market comparison. <br />Comparable cities in the lake area and throughout the metro area are considering pay <br />adjustments for 2001 of 3% - 3.5%. <br />a. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Motion to adopt the attached resolution approving pay plan adjustnients for non-union Ci^ <br />employees for 2001. which reflects a 3.25% adjustment to pay schedules and an increase m the <br />City’s insurance contribution to $410.00 per month.
