<br />Project Purpose:
<br />The existing bam was renovated in 1965 for use as a warming house for skaters and paddle tennis
<br />players. At that time a fireplace, small kitchen and toilets were installed. Since that time very
<br />little has been done to improve this fiicility.
<br />It is also used by members to host private parties, primarily during the winter months when their
<br />guests can use the adjacent winter sports venues.
<br />A recent survey of members indicated a need to provide more casual space, particularly during
<br />the winter months, for fiunilies with younger children. The bam was Ae natural choice but it was
<br />obvious that it had to be upgraded to make it more usable and inviting.
<br />Current Usage Data
<br />The Fire Marshall rates the building with a capacity of 150 people. As a rule we limit the number
<br />of people at parties in the bam to 75.
<br />A large number of the parties are children’s birthdays.
