SI <br />Two of the members shall reside in and be appointed <br />to represent the Rural Service Area of the City as defined in the <br />Comprehensive Management Plan, two members residing in and <br />appointed to represent the Urban Service Area» one appointed that <br />resides on Lake Minnetonka lakeshore property and two shall be <br />appointed to represent the City At Large. The Council by majority <br />vote may deviate from this policy to appoint persons without <br />specific designation. The Zoning Administrator and one Council <br />member shall be members of the Commission ex officio and without <br />vote. <br />Ordinance 31, 2nd Series <br />Adopted: 3-17-87 <br />Subd. 2. Powers and Duties. The Planning Commission <br />shall be the Planning Agency of the City and be an advisory body to <br />the Council. The Commission shall have the power, under the <br />direction of the Council, to carry on the duties set forth in <br />Minnesota Statutes, and those duties provided by this Code and such <br />other duties as prescribed by the Council from time to time. The <br />Commission shall hold a regular meeting once each month and-keep <br />records of its proceedings. <br />SEC. 2.52. PARK COMMISSION. <br />Subd. 1. Establishment and Composition. A Park <br />Commission composed of eight members, who shall serve staggered <br />three-year terms, is hereby established. The Public Works Director <br />and one Council member shall be members of the Commission ex <br />officio and without vote and are in addition to the eight member <br />Commission. <br />Ordinance 59, 2nd Series <br />Adopted: 10-24-88 , <br />Rw /W J 93 ) <br />Subd. 2. Powers and Duties. The Park Commission shall <br />be only an advisory body to the Council. The Commission shall <br />study and consider the continuing needs of the City for parks and <br />recreation areas and facilities of all kinds, including, but not <br />limited to, problems involving public use of Lake Minnetonka and <br />other lakes in the City, and portions of its shorelines.
