Including Market-Based Pay Adj ustments <br />cost-of-living adjustments, which will be 2% effective 1/1/2000 and 1% effective 7/1/2000. The <br />revised pay schedules reflecting both the market adjustments and the cost-of-living adjustments are <br />attached. <br />Part-Time Position Movement through the Pav Range <br />The compensation plan has, in the past, limited regular part-time positions to the first two steps of <br />the pay range. The part-time positions have not been eligible to move into the top two st"ps. Staff <br />recommends changing the compensation plan to enable regular part-time staff to move through all <br />four steps of the pay range. Because the part-time staff work less than 40 hours per week, it is <br />recommended the regular part-time staff move through the pay steps as follows: <br />Step 1 Starting rate <br />Step 2 1 year anniversary <br />Step 3 After 3,120 hours worked <br />Step 4 After 5,200 hours worked <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Motion to adopt the attached resolution approving nay plan adjustments for non-union City <br />employees for 2000. <br />u Ivikr b 1
