m <br />m <br />VILLAGE OF ORONO <br />Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Planning Conraission, Village of <br />Orono, April 15, 1968 <br />Chairman D. J. Russell called the meeting <br />to order at 7:30 P.M. ’‘’embers present were <br />Curry, Rice, Dongoske, Nicholls, and Bartig. <br />Councilman Stubbs represented the Village <br />Council. <br />PUBLIC HEARING: Steve Major - 1855 Concordia PUBLIC HEARING <br />A Public Hearing was held on the issuance <br />of a building permit on Lot 6, Plat 42060, <br />Parcel 1200, Coffee’s Addition to Shadywood, <br />1855 Concordia Street. First to be heard, <br />Steve Major, representing himself as the <br />prospective purchaser of the lot, cited that <br />the Louse he intended to place on the above <br />lot would increase the valuation of the <br />neighborhood, and that he was not interested <br />in maintaining a lot twice the sire of <br />this lot; also, that since sewer was in in <br />this area, he was of the opinion the size <br />of the lot was adequate. Next to be heard <br />were three adjacent property owners! Dave <br />Hallowell, Vince Anderson, and Paul <br />Bergrcn, voicing opposition to the permit <br />on grounds that the area primarily consisted <br />of larger lots, and a 14,600 square foot lot <br />wasn't compatible with adjacent properties. <br />After everybody was heard the hearing was <br />closed. <br />Dongoske moved, Bartig seconded, that it <br />be recommended f the permit be denied. <br />Motion, Ayes (5) 1). <br />FREDRICK HERFURTH: Division <br />Fredrick Herfurth, representing himself, was <br />present to discuss the possibility of divid­ <br />ing his property at 645 North Ferndale <br />Road, Parcels 4070 6 3770 in Section 36, a <br />total of 4.3 acres. He stated his proposal <br />to divide the property into two lots, one <br />three-acre parcel and one 1.3 acre. <br />Discussion was held on lot sizes, t!ie width <br />of the easement that came into the property, <br />of whe Municipal Ordinance stating the <br />property must be in a R.L.S. if divided. <br />Bartig moved, Dongoske seconded, that the <br />two-acre zoning be upheld.
