VILLAGE OF ORONO <br />Regular Meeting of the Planning Coiiimission. <br />Septenber 21, 1970 7:30 P.M. <br />The Planning Comnission met on the above <br />date with the following meinbcrs present: <br />Chairnan Russell, Dorn, Gnscli, Kullbcrg, <br />Nicholls, and Poisson. Absent: Bartig, <br />Dongoske, Elliott, O'Malley, and Schocning. <br />Bill Swoon and Floyd Buschbaum represented <br />thcasclvcs in an application to rozonc from <br />R-IC to I property located at 276S-27S5 <br />Wayzata Boulevard, Parcels 3645-3600-36S0, <br />Section 33, The property has been purchased <br />by the Van Dale Corp, on a rezoning contingency <br />for the purpose of future expansion and is <br />adjacent to the present site of the firm, <br />now zoned I. <br />PEZONING <br />2765-2785 Wayzata Dlvd. <br />Mr. Sween expressed his view that the <br />addition of this property to the present <br />site would remove traffic from Highway *12 <br />and rcchanncl it to Old Crystal Bay Road, <br />thereby creating a bettor traffic situation, <br />Russell stated that it had been the general <br />policy to considci re zoning in the area <br />Highway #12 and the railroad tracks. <br />Russell moved, Kullberg seconded, that a <br />public hearing on the rezoning be held and <br />recommended approval of the rezoning. <br />Motion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0). Horn made <br />his appearance after the vote. <br />Bill Sween represented Gordon Barbnrossa <br />in an application to divide Parcel 5600, <br />Section 9, 2445 North Shore Drive, <br />consisting of 3h acres into three lots. <br />Members studied the plat and questioned <br />Mr. Sween as to the extent of the lowland <br />on the property. Mr. Sween stated that he <br />could not say exactly, but that it was loss <br />than h aero, which would leave three acres <br />of high ground. It w.as also noted that <br />the driveway and turn around to service the <br />throe lots were shown on the plat as 50' <br />and 100', respectively, but that it probably <br />would never be developed to that extent <br />for usage on three lots. The Building <br />Inspector stated that adequate septic systems <br />^£Ould be installed and there was the <br />^Probability of municipal sewer in the near <br />future. <br />DIVISION <br />2445 Nortlt Shore Drive <br />Russell moved, Xullberg seconded, that the <br />division be approved. Motion, Ayes (6) - Nays (0).
