VILLAGE OF ORONO <br />i: j <br />Regular Meeting of the Planning Ceramistion. <br />December 20. 1971 <br />L <br />The Planning Commission met on tae above <br />(late with the following members present; <br />Chairman Poisson. Butler. Elliott. Gasch, <br />Hays. Herfurth. Kullberg, and Nicholls. <br />Also present: Councilman Dorn. Absent; <br />Xuhlemeier. Ryerse. and Southwortii. <br />Butler moved. Gasch seconded, that the <br />Minutes of the last meeting be apnroved. <br />ilotion. Ayes (3) - Ways (0). <br />Ev Geyen represented himself in a petition <br />to rozone from R-lb to B-1. Lots 11-12. <br />Block 7. Wavarre Heights, ext .aining that <br />iie had no intent to change the use of the <br />property now used as a parking area for ais <br />ousiaess complex on Lots 13-14. Block 7. <br />lie stated he was advised by the Village <br />Engineer that the water assessment would be <br />less zoned B-1 than R-ID. At this time, <br />the Chairman asked if aiiyboiiy in tiie <br />aiidcnce wished to be heard. Voicing <br />opposition to the rezoning wore Messrs. <br />William Bolder. 3513 Lyric Avenue; Albert <br />Derry. 3559 Lyric Avenue; and Ruby Lundblad, <br />3505 Lyric Avenue. Chief opnosition v/as <br />taat the Village now had so' much unused <br />commercial property and the fear tliat the <br />rezoning would establish a precedent and <br />remove the residential status of the <br />neigaboraood. Gasch asked way the unit <br />assessment could not be deleted. Herfurth <br />was of the opinion that since Mr. Geyen was <br />enjoying ti:e use of the property, ac should <br />pay the assessment. <br />At this time. Mr. Geyen asked tant the <br />netition for rozoning be dropped. Kullberg <br />then stated it should be in the iiautes <br />taat the property should remain residential <br />and Mr. Geyen enjoy full rights of using <br />tao property as a parking lot as previously. <br />Members studied the plat of Philin Stubbs <br />in tiio matter of a division of property <br />at 400 Stubbs Bay Road Worth. It was noted <br />that the division mot the requirements of <br />the zoning code and platting Ordinance Wo. 132. <br />?;30 P.M. <br />MINUTES <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br />Rezoning - R-ID to B-1 <br />Navarre lieigats <br />DIVISION <br />400 Stubbs Bay Road Wortlv <br />Gasch moved. Nicholls seconded, to recommend <br />approval. Motion, Ayes (3) - Nays (0).
