VILLAGE OF ORONO <br />Regular Ileeting of the Planning Commission. <br />June 19, 1972 7:30 P.M. <br />The Planning Commission met on the above date <br />with the following members present: Chairman <br />Poisson, Elliott, Gasch, Hays, Searles, South- <br />worth, Ryerse, and Van Nest. Absent: Herfurtii, <br />Kullberg, and Nicholls. Also present: Council- <br />men Butler and ilassen^ale. <br />Searles moved, Gasch seconded, that tne <br />Ilinutes of the Regular Meeting of June 5, <br />1972, be approved. Motion, Ayes (8) - <br />Nays (O'-. <br />MINUTES <br />O <br />Stan Ecklund's son represented him in an <br />application for a lot size and frontage <br />variance on Lots 9 8 10, Pheasant Lawn. He <br />stated the Pheasant Laim subdivision was <br />made in 1945 and the lots divided were <br />considered adequate although not all equal. <br />He considered these lots compatible with <br />built-on lots in the area. Gasch asked <br />Mr. Ecklund, since there was a difference <br />in size and width between the two lots, and <br />they were contiguous, why they could not be <br />combined and divided equally. Mr. Ecklund <br />stated he had no objection to tiiis. <br />LOT SIZE VARIANCE <br />2725 Pheasant Road <br />Van Nest moved, Searles seconded, that the <br />variance be recommended contingent on the <br />boundaries be drawn so tiie two lots would <br />approximate each other in size and width. <br />Motion, Ayes (8) - Nays (0). <br />Howard and David V.’illiams represented themselves <br />jointly in an application for a lot size and <br />width variance for the SWly % and NEly ij of <br />Lot 2, Rest Point, resoectively owned by them. <br />They informed members they have owned summer <br />homes on the two lots for a great many <br />years and that they were retired and could <br />not afford the cost of two homes, and they <br />wished to build a permanent home on eaeh lot. <br />Since the property was in single separate <br />ownersiiin. <br />VARIANCE <br />1400-1406 Rest Point Road <br />Southworth moved, Elliott seconded, to recommend <br />approval contingent on: <br />1. Survey of the site and proposed buildings <br />be submitted before any permit be granted <br />2. That letters from the encroached-on <br />neighbors stating exactly what number of feet <br />of setback they were not objecting to <br />3. That 3' could be tiie minimum side setback <br />4. That the proposed residences have a <br />maximum separation to prevent total loss in <br />the event of a fire. Motion, Ayes (8) - Nays (0);
