The remodeling will be done <br />in two phases: the final phase will involve the <br />removal of a 2.5* X 21’ section encroaching int <br />the 75* I'akeshore setback area. The remodeling <br />is consistent with the pattern of neighborhood <br />development. The majority o.f homes are located <br />in depth creating excessive hardcover conditions. <br />The applicant must replace the existing foundation. <br />The new foundation will raise the proposed structure <br />two feet above grade. Staff concurs with the <br />majority opinion of the Planning Commission in <br />recommending approval. The variance <br />requested is for the south side yard setback. <br />Mayor Van Nest: I would like to request the City <br />Engineer to review the existing alley and the <br />drainage pattern in this area. <br />Massengale moved, Butler seconded, to request <br />staff to draft a resolution for the next Council <br />meeting documenting all findings of facts pertinent <br />to this application. Motion, Ayes (4) - Nays (0). <br />Jean Mabusth, Zoning Administrator, entered into <br />the record the following concerning the CDBG Year <br />VI application, daLed March 4, 1980, which states: <br />CDBG YEAR VI APPLICATI <br />On November 27, 1979, Orono held a public hearing <br />on the Year VI (August 1980-1981) CDBG application. <br />Thereafter, an initial application was submitted <br />for review by the local Citizen's Advisory Committee <br />calling for 100% of the funds to be allocated for <br />housing rehabilitation. On January 21, 1980, we <br />were notified that our total allocation for Year VI <br />would be $62,664. <br />(Continued)
