R’DGULAR MEETING OF THE ORONO COUNCIL, AUGUST 22, 1977
Planning Conunission Meeting - August 15, 1977
Mr - White was present. Restated the items in
hxs letter to the Council dated July 22, 1977.
He stated that he had no hardships other than
economical or personal design wishes. He
wishes to maximize the distance between the
existing house and the proposed house. The
Planning Commission was sympathetic, but since
owner could present no physical hardships.
Commission recommended denial.
Council Meeting ~ August 22, 1977
Mr. Charles White, representing' Mr. Robert \Jhite,
submitted a letter to the City Council, which
states;
"A bu^^tness trip again prevents me from appearing
before you. My son, Charles White, represents
me in my request for a variance on an outlot at
my homestead, 320 Woodhill Road. Such request
was denied last week by the Planning Commis«jion.
I seek relief from their decision based on the
reasoning of my July 22, 1977 letter to you.
My reasoning is:
The variance affects no one except me.
Neither neighbors nor the Woodhill Country
Club have objected.
The lot line affected has been a woods,
.literally forever.
onG suitat)lG building sitG on the
lot.
It dictates the need to place a new structure
as far away from the present house as possible
to preserve its value.
Two architects^ Peter Hall of Minneapolis and
Robert Gaede of Cleveland, Ohxo have stated
that unless a variance can be obtained a
structure should not be erected."
End of letter
Pesek moved, Butler seconded, to table the request
2 variance for Robert F. White, 320 Woodhill
Road, until the meeting of September 12, 1977, to
allow the applicant to document hardship. Motion,
Ayes (4) - Nays (0).
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
Page 17
VARIANCE
320 Woodhill Road
(Continued)
