H
I
TO:Planning Commission and Council
FROM:Jeanne Mabusth, Zoning Administrator
DATE:June 4, 1980
SUBJECT: #544 Fred Ryan, 1345 North Arm Drive
VACATION (Park & Unimproved Public Access)
On April 21, 1980, the Planning Commission voted to table Mr. Ryan's
vacation application pending review and recommendation from the Orono
Park Commission. Please review the Park Commission Minutes of
May 6, 1980 and the Zoning Administrator's memo of April 28, 1980 to
the Park Commission.
In reviewing the Park Commission's recommendation, the Public Works
Director is concerned with the following attached conditions:
1. immediate maintenance of said park
2. initial improvements to be installed on park site.
Gerhardson proposes a staff meeting to include City Administrator,
City Engineer, Planner and Zoning Administrator to determine budgeting
demands emd additional man hours required to maintain proposed park.
Plemhing Commission may wish to act on this application at this meeting
but delay scheduling for Council's review until staff can determine
feasibility of proposal. Planning Commission should offer an alternative
recommendation if proposal to turn the entire area into a neighborhood
park proves unreasonable.
