r:=r\ /;!=;? <br />% <br />AMI DhL riANNINC; <br />3 PLANNING COMMISSION <br />• Petition for rezoning referred to planning <br />commission. <br />• Schedule date for public hearing. <br />• Notice of the time, place, and purpose of <br />public heating given by publication in news­ <br />paper of general circulation at least ten days <br />before hearing (Form 5). <br />• Notification of adjacent property owners <br />(Form 6). <br />• Notification of other agencies (Form 7). <br />• View the area being considered in the field <br />with zoning administrator. <br />• Arrange to have maps and other exhibits at <br />the public hearing. <br />4 PLANNING COMMISSION Public Hearing <br />'^'‘COMNHSSION <br />The meeting should be opened precisely at the <br />time advertised in the notice. <br />The presiding officer should conduct the meet­ <br />ing and exercise all authority in order to keep the <br />meeting running smoothly and to the point. <br />An accurate record of the testimony is essential. <br />The secretary will summarize accurately the testi­ <br />mony presented and have a record of the names and <br />addresses of all persons who participated in the <br />meeting. <br />The presiding officer should present an opening <br />statement explaining the purpose of the meeting and <br />make general guide rules for the conduct of the <br />meeting. A suggested statement might be: <br />The public hearing, in accordance with the <br />official notice, is now in session.
