Wf
■a ^
MZmiTBS or THS rLMiMlIIQ COMMZSSXON MBETZNG OP JULY 19, 1992 P99« •
t;*' •
ltoll«y stated that ha had a hard tine approving a 7*
anoroachnaat plus tha additional hardcover. Ha fait
that tha applicant would still hava a turnaround
preblasi whsthsr they ar<prova tMs variance or not.
hovagao suggested building two garages. Ha noted that
this building hss encroached onto the county right of
way for a long tiaw which doesn't really concern hin.
Losing tbs nature tree is a concern. Building an
additional garage would probably be less expensive and
this way we don't have additional garage encroaching
onto right of way.
Applicant stated that elininating one building was no
problen if they would grant a variance for this garage.
Jacobs noted that frost footing trould still be required.
Applicant noted that the slab would have to be renoved
and parking area would be very little. He would then lose
all view of oars parked in the yard, with his proposed
plan the neighbors would have a better view of the lake.
Opheia stated that hardcover is still a problem also
the enoroaohing structure, second story and can the
riaaning Coss^ssion legally approve a variance that
ipl<contasiplates encroaching onto right of way
Nabusth stated that a non conforming structure expansion
is proMbitad and that applicant would, require setba^
and hardcover variances for relocated proposed structure
Applicant was advised that staff could not reooniBend
application as proposed but Sarenpa wished to proceed
and plead his case to Council.
A 4. r ^
Hovegao asked the applicant why he doesn't just move
it ba^ 5' and also reduce the sise of the garage.
Ophsia moved to table the Sarenpa variance application
because of lade of data on the following items:
k
1 * Can tha Planning Ooasdsslon consider a non-conforming
addition to a non conforming structure.
2 - Rardoover issue.
<(ilcOonald seconded.
