Mr. <br />^I^den stated that the Engle’s were vacationing at this <br />^IjPune and that he wculd rather wait until they returned <br />to discussed this matter with them. <br />» <br />IXmlap moved, Hassel seconded, to table this matter in <br />order for the applicant to contact the neighbors. <br />Motion - Ayes (5), Nays (0j„ <br />Kathi Ellis arrived and the Planning Coninission advised <br />of the action taken earlier. The applicant asked where <br />a proposal of this nature could be approved in Orono. <br />"Tie Planning Commission pointed out the commercial <br />area west of Long Lake and also in the Navarre area. <br />Mr. Hawley was present. He is requesting approval of a <br />building permit for his property on Big Island. The <br />Zoning Administrator pointed out the location of this <br />property on the map. Mr. Hawley stated that the pro <br />posed location for this structure would be the same <br />as the previoi^ proposal in 1974. The structure would <br />be a little bigger, however. The Zoning Administrator <br />stated that the applicant was aware of the fact that <br />no public services are available for Big Island. <br />^^yter a brief discussion, Hannah moved, Hassel <br />'**!feconded, to recomiiend approval on the basis that the <br />lots be combined and the septic system be approved by <br />the City Engineer. Motion - Ayes (5), Nays (0). <br />The Planning Comnission took action on the following <br />work session item: <br />The Zoning Administrator informed the Commission that <br />the a^licant is r^uesting a lot area variance for an <br />addition to his existing dwelling. Ihe proposed <br />addition would meet all setback requirements and would <br />not exceed the heights of the existing structure. <br />IXmlap moved, Guthrie seconded, to recommend approval <br />of this lot area variance on the basis that no other <br />land is available and proposed addition meets «iii set <br />back requirements. Also recomnended that inpervious <br />material not be used in the construction of the deck. <br />Motion - Ayes (5), Nays (0). <br />Mr. Dick Freeborn and Clayton Bangs were present. <br />They were informed that this was a work session only, <br />/piZhe Planning Comnission was concerned about the <br />\Jmership of the abutting property and instructed <br />the Zoning Administrator to investigate this matter. <br />WILLIAM ODDEN <br />(continued) <br />(#237) <br />M.
