Their only concern was insurance <br />which would be increased in a flood plain area, ^rie <br />noved, Hannah seconded, to table this matter until all <br />additional material is conplete. Motion * Ayes (5), Nays (0). <br />Mr. Solie was present and sibmitted a letter from the <br />Pollution Control Agency. Chairwoman Dinlap read this <br />letter which, in effect, stated that they were not <br />opposed to the use of creosote ties and felt the ties <br />would not have a significant impact on the surface MOtt. <br />Mr. Solie also mentioned that the MOW) had mentioned that <br />these ties were non-polluting. The Planning Conmssion <br />was concerned d)Out this as it has been their understand^ <br />thdt creosote ties were polluting. In the past six months, <br />many ai^lications requesting the use of these ties have <br />been turned down. <br />After a short discussion, the Planning Coamission felt <br />they needi^ more time to obtain additional^formation. <br />Hannih moved, Guthrie seconded, to table this application <br />in order to receive documentation from the engineer <br />regarding the amomt of creosote in the logs and the <br />inpact this would have on Lake Minnetonka and any other <br />doasnentation that is appropriate and- make a decision at <br />that time. Motion - Ayes (5), Nays (0). <br />The Zoning Administrator stated that the aR)licant is <br />requesting a variance for the proposed addition to the <br />existing dwelling. The location does not appear to <br />conflict with any neighbor’s viw of the lake. There <br />is no other land available and addition would be an <br />improvement to the property. <br />Hannah moved, Woolley seconded, that this varimce be <br />approved given the fact of the configuration of the lot, <br />^s not interfere with nei^bor’s view of lake and no <br />other land is available. Motion - Ayes (5), Nays (0). <br />The Zoning Administrator informed the Planning Conmssion <br />that the applicant had telephoned earlier expiating that <br />he could not attend the meeting until 10:00. Mr. <br />Ortenblad is requesting variances for construction ot a <br />new dwelling on this lot. TWo <br />present and the Planning Commission heard their comets <br />at this time. Audrey Santella, nei^ibor to the south, <br />objected to the proposed location of this house <br />would extend closer to the lake than her home and felt <br />would obstruct their view. City Ordinance states that <br />houses should be in line and her feeling was that this <br />should be followed.
