(Working Out of Class Assignment, Continued) <br />• Provide structure, identify and procure resources to facilitate internal communication via <br />“roll call" briefings and training. <br />• Fill in gaps in scheduling when necessary. <br />Logblics: <br />• Provide oversight on the purchase and procurement of supplies, equipment, uniforms. <br />• Maintain a safe, clean, functional work environment. <br />• Provide resources necessary during emergency situations to ensure appropriate safety and <br />control, resolve problems as quickly as possible. <br />Command: <br />• Maintain conlacl with patrol officers to provide assistance and support when needed. <br />• Assist first responding officers with command and coordination of incidents w hen <br />needed. Assume command and coordination of persons, equipment, traffic, <br />communications, etc. w hen necessary or requested. <br />Finance/Administralion: <br />• Assist the department in achieving its goals while staying within the 2002 budget. <br />Identify priorities and assist in the preparation of the 2003 budget. Identify opportunities <br />by which the department can achieve its objectives through the most efficient and <br />conservative use of the taxpayers resources. <br />• Manage special projects, attend meetings, and perform other duties as assigned. <br />Hours: Days 5/2, and other hours as necessary. <br />Please submit your letter of interest and all attachments to Chief Good by OSOOhrs. Monday <br />December 26, 2001 The selection process w ill be: <br />1) Evaluation of w ritten response to the attached questions <br />2) Oral interview November 28,29 <br />3) Notification of assignment <br />4) Begin Jan 1.2002 <br />Selection criteria: <br />Experience, honesty, effective communication skills (both inside and outside the department, <br />written and verbal), positive attitude as evidenced by positive working relationships within the <br />department and outside the department (including citizens, other members of our city staffs), <br />m^cs sound decisions based on knowledge of all factors involved, strives to maintain or <br />increase level of knowledge, uses expertise in training others, doesn’t over react to situations, is a <br />person w horn others trust, is willing to take orders from supervisor in a team effort, good listener, <br />coaches and encourages others, prepares accurate, timely records/documents, is trustworthy w ith <br />personal/confidential matters, a^its mistakes and goes on to correct them, holds self to high <br />standards in any endeavor, professional appearance, strong ethical behavior. <br />4
