FINDINGS & <br />CONCLUSIONS <br />1. The city of Orono's Comprehensive Plan meets all Metropolitan Land Planning Act requirements <br />for 1998 plan updates. <br />2. The plan is inconsistent with the Regional Growth Strategy. However, due to previous <br />negotiations with the city that established limited sewer capacity, urban development is not <br />expected to occur in the area designated in the Regional Growth Strategy as Urban Reserve, and <br />therefore it is not a system departure. <br />3. The plan is in conformity with the metropolitan system plans for Aviation, Recreation Open <br />Space, Transportation and Wastewater Services. <br />4. The housing element of Orono’s comprehensive plan is consistent with regional housing policy. <br />5. Orono*s Comprehensive Plan is generally compatible with the plans of adjacent governmental <br />units and the school districts.
