Such apartment shall not have utilities metered separately from the principal <br />residence utilities and shall not have a separate street address. <br />The applicants are requesting a variance to this condition per City staff direction <br />This uill be discussed in the Variame .\eetion of this report <br />The applicants meet ail conditions set forth by the Ordinance for non-rental apartments, <br />with the exception of the variance needed for ^4 which staff will recommend approval <br />for. fherefi re. staff i: recommending approval of this conditional use permit to allow a <br />non-rental guc.^i apartment to be constructed above the existing attached garage. <br />Water Meter Variance <br />In conjunction with the above mentioned conditional use permits, a variance is required <br />because one of the conditions listed under the CUP in the Zoning Ordinance camiot be <br />met. I he Ordinance requires that utilities for non-rental guest apartments not be metered <br />separaicl) which is whal the applicant is proposing. However, city staff directed the <br />applicants to design the utilities where they would be contained within the property
