Suction dredging apparently has less of a
disruptive effect on the lake.
2. The primary disruption ceune from stirring carbon and
nitrogen from t;he lake sediment.
3. No consistent or long lasting change occurred in the
marsh.
The dredging project is now completed. The land has been
leveled and re-seeded with pasture grass. The spoils area has
been seeded with clover to facilitate the drying process. It
should be dried out and st2d>le by next August.
If you desire additional information or clarification, please
call me at 471-8407 or Dr. John Wood at 471-8476.
Sincerely,
rosepn Rossillon
;xecutive Director
JPR/n
cc: Mr. Earl Sween
A PUBLIC NON-PROFIT FOUNDATION • CONTRIBUTIONS ARE TAX-DLDUCTIBLE
