TO:File #356 <br />FROM:Mike Ga££ron, Septic System Inspector <br />CATE:June 23, 1978 <br />SUBJECT:Soil Testing £or On-Slte Sewage System <br />Karl Gardner Subdivision, 2885 Sixth Avenue North <br />A report o£ soil testing and dralnfleld suitability £or the Gardner <br />Subdivision was received by sta££ on June 22, 1978. The results <br />o£ this testing Indicate that areas of perched water table exist <br />throughout the proposed subdivision. In addition, lowland soils <br />occur over much o£ Lot 2, Block 2. <br />Lot 1, Block 1 - Average perc rate 12 min/inch. Secondary £leld <br />has perched water table at 4 £t. Based on the data submitted, <br />a standard system would be satisfactory for the primary field <br />and shallow trenches in the secondary field. <br />Lot 1, Block 2 - Average perc rate 9 min/Inch. Perched water table <br />to the northeast. One additional boring and two additional perc <br />tests within secondary field will be required to show that the <br />secondary field can support an on-slte system. <br />Lot 2, Block 2 - A suitable dralnfleld area has not been located on <br />this lot. Water table was found to be too near the surface for <br />an on~slte system to function correctly. Additional exploratory <br />testing would be necessary to locate a suitable dralnfleld area on <br />this lot. <br />Lot 3, Block 2 “ Existing system will be Inspected by staff as soon <br />as possible. <br />6-27-78 Inspection of Existing Septic System <br />The septic system at 2885 6th Avenue N. consists of 1 tank flowing <br />through a draintile line outletting to the ditch along 6th Avenue. <br />The system is classified as non-conforming. The inspection report <br />and orders to repair system within 90 days were sent to the o%mer <br />on June 27, 1978.
