ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE TO A2-1END THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE <br />CITY OF ORONO RELATING TO THE APPOINTMENT OF <br />CHAIRPERSON AND VICE CHAIRPERSON AND VACANCIES <br />OF THOSE POSITIONS FOR THE PLANNING COMMISSION, <br />PARK COi-lMISSION AND HUMAN RIGHTS CONu-lISSION; <br />AMENDING CHAPTERS 1, 9 AND 12 OF THE ORONO <br />MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING CERTAIN SECTIONS <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORONO ORDAINS: <br />Section 1. Chapter 7 of the Municipal Code of the City <br />of Orono is amended by amending Section 7.030 to read as <br />follows; <br />7.030. Organization - Meetings. The coxincil shall <br />appoint a chairperson and vice chairperson from among the <br />appointed members for the term of one year commencing January <br />1st of each year. Any vacancy of the chairperson or vice <br />chairperson shall be filled by appointment by the council for <br />the unexpired portion of the term. The commission may create <br />and fill such other offices and committees as it may determine. <br />The commission shall hold at least one regular meeting <br />each month. It shall adopt rules for the transaction of busi­ <br />ness and shall keep a record of its resolutions, transactions, <br />findings and determinations, which record shall be a public <br />record. Expenditures of the commission shall be within amounts <br />appropriated for the purpose by the City Council. <br />Section 2. Chapter 9 of the Municipal Code of the City <br />of Orono is amended by amending Section 9.040 to read as <br />follows: <br />9.040. Organization - Meetings. The City Council shall <br />appoint a chairperson and vice chairperson from among the <br />appointed members for the term of one year commencing January <br />1st of each year.
