minutes of a planning commission meeting held may 8, 1978 - PAGE 4 <br />Application for variances to construct a 3-car <br />detached garage. <br />Applicant John Perkins was present. Mike Gaffron <br />stated that notification had not been sent to <br />adjacent property owners due to staff problems. <br />Applicant stated that hardships to the lot <br />included a hill to the west and some trees to <br />the south of the proposed garage. Tliere was <br />discussion as to other possibilities and congestion <br />in the area. <br />JOHN PERKINS <br />1265 Elmwood <br />VARIANCE <br />(#374) <br />Mr. Wilson made the following motion: That the <br />3-car detached garage be approved,as the way the <br />lot is layed out and with the hill and trees it <br />appears to be the only way to solve the problem, <br />conditioned on the following: <br />1. Neighbor on the north submit a written approval <br />since he was not notified. <br />2. The existing garage be removed prior to the <br />construction of the new garage. <br />Motion seconded by Hammerel and unanimously approved. <br />. <br />Gregg Hannah made the following motion: Due to the <br />fact that we have now been informed that none of the <br />neighbors have been informed of the action being <br />taken on these items, that the neighbors of these <br />items be notified prior to taking action at the <br />Council. Motion seconded by Mr. Wilson and approved. <br />Application for variance from street setback <br />requirement for approval to construct detached <br />garage. <br />Applicant Timothy Gagner was present. He stated <br />that hardships to the lot were losing two trees <br />and moving a well if garage was put within setback <br />requirements. Jim Olson asked if the existing <br />blacktop area was large enough to turn around in. <br />Applicant stated that it was. <br />TIMOTHY GAGNER <br />740 Tonkawa <br />VARIANCE <br />(#375) <br />Hammerel made the following motion: That this <br />application be approved for variance of street <br />setback requirements for approval of construction <br />of detached garage, variances approved of 27,220 <br />s.f. lot area, 64 ft. lot width, and 24 ft. street <br />setback. Frahm seconded the motion. Motion <br />unanimously approved.
