Both the east and west <br />shores will be accessible to the public and represents a visible opportunity <br />for public education. <br />Estimated Costs <br />The LCMR funding paid for the acquisKion of the private marina property that will <br />become a public water access. The City of Minnetonka funding is estimated at <br />$1 million. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources funding is estimated <br />to be $800,000 for the public water access and shore fishing areas. The cost to <br />Hennepin County to upgrade Highway 101 (which would include standard <br />shoreline treatments) is unknown. The costs to each funding partner for staff <br />time, expenses and design costs are also unknown. <br />For the purposes of this Minor Plan Amendment, only the estimated costs for <br />Minnehaha Creek Watershed District to participate in the project is of interest.
