MINUTES OETHK <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, October 28,2002 <br />7:00 o'clock p.m. <br />(I102>2843, PROFESSIONAL PROPERTIES OF ORONO, Continued) <br />Dr. Berg indicated that they do plan to purchase the entire parcel and believed that they will get <br />the job done uDcr much common sense negotiating. <br />Mayor Peterson asked the Attorney if this was problematic. <br />Barrett noted that the City was well within its rights to wear two hats, as seller and regulator. <br />Dr. Kottcinan stated that they sincerely appreciated the City Council’s interest in their project <br />and willingness to approach MCWD on their behalf. <br />Mayor Peterson urged staff to set the meeting v/ith the MCWD TliP Panel for November 7, 2002 <br />and keep her abreast of developments. <br />Sanscvcrc stated that he woidd suggest a name to them in order to set up a meeting with an <br />advoeate or representative of Orono who might be on their side and assist in making inroads with <br />MCWD. <br />Dr. Eberts reiterated their appreciation to the City Council for their going *to bat ’ for the <br />development. I Ic stated that, ultimately, this would be a great thing for Orono. <br />Sansevere concurred, stating that this is an important project for the conununity, and one the <br />Council wants to see happen. <br />MAYOR/COUNCTL REPORT • to be continued <br />Mayor Peterson suggested that the C’ity send out letters of condolence to the Wellstone camp and <br />to those who lo.st loved ones in the Wellstone plane crash. <br />Mayor Peterson inquired if the upcoming work sessions were still scheduled for November 14 <br />and 21. and December 5, 2(M)2 at 5:30 P.M. <br />M»»orse imlicated that those were the dates they had discussed. <br />*16. HOUSING WEEK NOVEMBER 16-23,2002 - PROCLAMATION <br />Murphy moved, Sansevere seconded, to adopt the proclamation selling the week of <br />November 16-23,2002 as Housing Week in Orono.
