Box 66 <br />Crystal Bay, MN 55323 <br />OOf <br />Dear Ron:Vo <br />On behalf of Jonathan Farmer, Dick Kroeger and myself, we wish to thank you for meeting with <br />us a couple of weeks ago. <br />We are encouraged by your support of and knowledge of work force and life cycle housing. We <br />would like to continue our dialogue with you and the City Staff as well as the City Council <br />Members in order to ensure that the City of Orono develops policies and procedures to ensure <br />that woric force and life cycle housing are included as a necessary component of any new <br />development in Orono. <br />We feel as though the time is ripe to begin a commission which will study and implement the <br />various tools needed to provide a variety of housing options to keep Orono ’s current standard of <br />safety and quality of life. <br />he conunission should be created to: <br />(1) <br />(2) <br />(3) <br />(4) <br />Determine the need for work force and life cycle housing; <br />Advise the City on changes to the plaiming processes, zoning ordinances <br />and land use to facilitate the production of such housing; <br />Assist the City in seeking developers who will create such housing in a <br />wide range of income levels; and <br />Assure that the City is proactive in securing financing and resources aiid <br />forging partnerships to support development efforts. <br />Thank you once again for your ongoing support and insight of this great need for work force and <br />life cycle housing in the City of Orono. <br />If you have any further questions and/or need any further assistance, please feel free to contact <br />me at (952) 249-9707 ext. 2. <br />legan^nnettMegan
