The previous day care <br />ceased operation in October 2001 and a new conditional use permit is <br />required. The Orono Montessori School/Day Center was located in the lower <br />level of St. Edward’s Church until it recently burned down. <br />The applicant has indicated they will have 7 members on staff. The ages of <br />the students will range from 16 months to 6 years. The ratio of children to <br />workers is based on the number of children and their ages. The ratios are set <br />by the Department of Human Services (DHS) and are regulated by the state <br />licensing process.
