The current <br />contract with One Stop Auto Service in Long Lake expires on June 30,2001. The police <br />department sent requests for bids to (3) local businesses. Bids were opened on June 5, and <br />closed June 15,2002. <br />2) Chunk’s Lakeshore Auto also of Long Lake, and One Stop Auto Service were the only <br />businesses to respond to our request. Both businesses were able to meet our precstablishcd <br />criteria. <br />One Stop Chunk’s <br />S25.95 S29.00 <br />S62.25 S70.00 <br />S.115 S.097 <br />Bid Tabulation: <br />Service Repair Hours <br />Cost Analysis Per Mile Average <br />Both of these businesses have provided excellent ser\’ice to the police department in past years. <br />Both have experience with public safety vehicles from other area communities. Although One <br />Stop’s service repair charge and routine maintenance charges are lower, a cost analysis <br />comparing per mile costs of maintenance was lower for Chunk’s. <br />Staff recommends award of the contract for Orono public safety vehicle maintenance and repair <br />to Chunk’s Lakeshore Auto for the period of July 1,2002 through June 30,2003. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion to award contract for public safety vehicle maintenance and repairs to Chunk’s Lakeshore <br />Auto for the period of July 1,2002 through June 30,2003.
