PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES <br />M«y 20,2002 <br />Page 28 of 22 <br />versus commercial. <br />/ <br />Rahn, Hawn, and Smith concurred. <br />Fritzler stated that given the choice between office and residential, he would rather have the area <br />residential. <br />Mabusth indicated that she had no problem with residential on the south side of Kelley Parkway and she <br />thought the comp plan gave the Commission that flexibility. <br />Hawn stated that in regard to the commercial concept she wanted to hear additional feedback. <br />Kluth stated that he had already made his position clear. <br />Cynthia B. - said that she liked the retail commercial and issues regarding parking etc. could be addressed <br />later. <br />Rahn liked the concept. <br />Hawn stated that she would prefer to see a grocer located closer to Long Lake and not here. She believed <br />it was too big for this proposed site and did not offer a fixable solution. <br />Smith saw more trouble with the concept and was less inclined to support any commercial here. <br />Although Fritzler agreed he’d like to see a grocer in the area, he felt this was not the appropriate location. <br />He feared that Orono was not ready to commit to a large upscale grocer based on the amount of space
