ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Tuesday, May 28,2002______ <br />* 15. Approve Seasonal Golf Course Employee <br />Sansevere moved, Murphy seconded, to hire Rodney Jensen as a Golf Course Seasonal <br />Employee at an hourly rate of $7.50 under the monthly maximum earnings provision of the <br />PERA rules. Vote: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT <br />* 16. Pay Request - Long Lake Fire Station <br />Sansevere moved, Murphy seconded, to approve Payment No. 1 in the amount of $18,512.60 <br />to Rochon Construction, and to approve the payment of $4,625.00 to Kirk Program <br />Management, and $5384.46 to GME Consultants, Inc. Vote: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />17. Navarre Dog Days of Summer Committee Request for Funding <br />Sansevere questioned whether this donation should be made out of the Park Dedication Fees. <br />Park Commissioner Rick Meyers was in attendance acting as liaison to the Committee and <br />encouraged Council support for this, Orono’s Community Festival. He added that the golf <br />tournament at the conclusion of the festival raises a great deal of money for the Parks fund and he <br />believed this to be a good 'bangfor the buck'. <br />Mayor Peterson passed along a request from Rick Bloomquist for additional monetary support of <br />$500 for a DJ at the National Night Out. She indicated that she wasn't sure if this was appropriate <br />but had promised to pass along the request. <br />Sansevere moved, Murphy seconded, that the $350 funding for the Navarre Dog Days of <br />Summer be set up to come from the General Fund. Vote: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />18. Council Appointments - Resolution No. 4822 <br />Mayor Peterson moved, Murphy seconded, to adopt Resolution No. 4822, amending the <br />2002 Council appointments resolution recommending Bob Sansevere to ser> e as acting Mayor <br />aud Sandy Smith to serve as Planning Commission Chair for the remainder of the year. Vote: <br />Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />* 19. ReviseTransientMerchantLicense-OrdinanceNo. 219,2nd Series <br />Sansevere moved, Murphy seconded, to adopt Ordinance 219,2nd Series, amending Chapter <br />5 of the Orono Municipal Code by amending Section 530, Subd. 3H, providing for extensions <br />to the 10-day limit for transient merchants licenses, and to authorize its publication.
