The sewer fund cost for installation of the main components of the SCADA system and the ten lift <br />station remote units will be $ 129,498 this year. This is $40,000 more than the $90,000 annual capital <br />budget amount for the Sewer Fund In order to expedite the SCADA system inst'^llation at the ten <br />highest priority lift stations, we arc recommending spending $130,000 this year and $50,000 next <br />year to average $90,000 per year in Sewer Fund Capital Outlay spending. The Sewer fund has an <br />adequate balance to support the proposed Capital Outlay Budget <br />The $44,830 prorated cost share for the Water Fund will complete the SCADA system for the two <br />water plants and we are recommending approval of this work. The SCADA system will also provide <br />for monitoring of door alarms at the two water plants. The Water Fund has an adequate balance to <br />support the proposed Capital Outlay Budget <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Motion to award contract to Automatic Systems Company, Roseville Minnesota for the installation <br />of a SCADA system. The award to include Base Bid, $108,830.00 and Alternate No. 2. $65,498.00 <br />for a total contract amount of $174,328.00. <br />Motion to approve a budget adjustment for the Year 2002 Sewer Fund Capital Outlay Budget in the <br />amount of $129,498.00 for the Sewer Fund's prorated share of the Automatic Systems Company <br />contract for the installation of a SCADA system. <br />Motion to approve a budget adjustment for the Year 2002 Water Fund Capital Outlay Budget in the <br />amount of $44,830.00 for the Water Fund’s prorated share of the Automatic Systems Company <br />contract for the installation of a SCADA system. <br />Page 4 of 4
