Gappa Title Director of Public Services Administrator Reviewed: Agenda Section: Public Sers’ices’s Directors Report Item Description: Lift Station Pump Control Panel Replacements The 2001 Sewer Capital Improvement Budget included $30,000 each for three lift stations to replace the pumps and control panels. These three stations were constructed in 1971 as part of the Saga Hill/Forest Lake Area Sanitary Sewer Project. Approval for the pump replacements has already been obtained. The total cost for the pump replacements is $40,000, so there is $50,000 left in the budget for the control panel replacements. Since this money was included in the 2001 budget, a budget adjustment to the 2002 Sewer Capital Improvement Budget will be required for purchase of these panels in 2002. We obtained quotations for the purchase and installation of new control panels in these lift stations, and the Council previously accepted the quotation from Electric Pump of Minneapolis. These new panels will be large enough for the future installation of SCADA equipment. Upon engineering review of the shop drawings submitted by the control panel supplier, it was noted that several necessar>' items were not included in the panels. This is because the quotation request prepared by public works stafTdid not clearly specify that these items were required. The revised quotation below increases the cost per panel by $850 to account for these additional items that have been added to the panels. These additional costs do not change the results of the quotation solicitation process. Motion to approve a budget adjustment to the 2002 Sewer Fund Capital Improvement Budget in the amount of $37,680 for the purchase and installation of three replacement lift station control panels. i
