Gappa Title Director of Public Services Adminbtrator Reviewed: Agenda Section: Public Services Director’s Report Item Description: Regional Skate Park in the City of Mound -Resolution The City of Mound is in the process of developing a regional skateboarding and in-line skating park to meet the recreational needs of the western Lake Minnetonka area citizens. Mound is seeking the support of area cities in this effort to develop this skate park. The Park Commission discussed this issue at their February meeting and voted to encourage Orono citizens to support this project with financial and other contributions. At the last Council meeting, the Park Commission representative requested that the Council adopt a resolution supporting the concept of the development of a regional skate park in the City of Mound. The Council agreed to support the development of the skate park and encourage Orono citizens to provide financial and other contributions for this effort. We have provided a resolution of support for this skate park project, for Council consideration, and are recommending approval of this resolution. COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: Motion to approve resolution supporting the development of a regional skate park in the City of Mound
