The porch, was built in 1978 and the wood was <br />rotting on the roof. And some maintenance work needed to be done. A permit was obtained from <br />the city. During the process of the maintenance work and roof repair it was found that the Hoor of <br />the porch was also rotten. This necessitated removing the roof and floor of the porch. <br />In 1978 a variance was granted to enclose an existing ucrete patio on the lakeside of the residence. <br />The location encroached into the 7S* lakeshore setback and into the side yard setback. The plan <br />approved is the same as what is being proposed today. The footprint, hardcover, roof height or lot <br />coverage by structures is NOT changing from what existed and was approved in 1978. <br />Pertinent Code Section: <br />1. Section 10.24, Subd. S (B): Side Yard Setback: The following minimum requirements shall be <br />observed for LR-1B district-10 feet. Variance Request: To permit a variance to allow the porch to <br />be 2.7' from the side lot line where 10' is required. <br />2. Section 10.03, Subd. 1(B): Average Lakeshore Setback: The average lakeshore setback line <br />shall be a straight line connecting the most lakeward protrusions of the residence buildings on the <br />inunediately adjacent lakeshore lots.
