Box 66 <br />Crystal Bay, MN 55323 <br />(952) 249-4600 <br />ZONING FILE #03-2919 <br />NOTICE OF PLANNING COMMISSION ACTION <br />DATE OF NOTICE: August 21, 2003 <br />TO: Kevin & Deborah Thompson <br />90 Myrtlewood Road <br />Wayzata, MN 55391 <br />COPIES: <br />TYPE OF APPLICATION: Variances <br />DATE OF MEETING: August 18, 2003 <br />Planniog CommissioD recommended as follows: <br />1. <br />2. <br />3. <br />Approval of setback variance to allow the new 996 s.f accessory building to be located <br />23. r from the side street lot line where a 50’ setback is normally required. <br />Denial of an Oversize Accessory' Structure variance to allow the attachment of the new <br />996 s.f building to the existing 848 s.f. garage via a 165 s.f. greenhouse which would <br />yield a 2009 s.f. accessory suucture on a lot of less than 2 acres in area where no <br />oversize accessory structures are normally allowed; finding no hardship that justifies the <br />variance and noiing the potential negative visual impacts of the oversize structure. <br />Approval of a variance to allow the proposed 900 s.f. pool to be located 15' (rather than <br />the 10' setback proposed) from the side street lot line where a 50’ setback would <br />nonnally be required. <br />4. Applicant to establish and maintain year-round vegetative screening along the south <br />boundary to reduce the visual impact of the proposed pool and building. <br />5. Approval of a conditional use permit to allow plumbing in the new accessory building <br />(toilet, shower and sink) subject to the standard conditions defined in the City code. <br />VOTE: 5 FOR 0 AGAINST <br />Applicant's next scheduled meeting is confirmed as: <br />City Council - Monday, August 25, 2003; meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. <br />If you desire certified copies of the official Planning Commission minutes, they are available <br />from the City Recorder after review and approval by the Planning Commission.
