6. 8. 9. Firefighter’s Relief Association, withholding tax, insurance, ect. For such volunteer firefighters, if any. Liability Insurance Excelsior Fire District shall carry liability insurance in an amount no less than $ 1,000,000.00 protecting itself and the City of Orono against damage claims of its fire fighters for personal injury sustained while in service within the said limits of the City of Orono as hereto set forth. The amount of the insurance coverage shall be reviewed annually and if determined to be inadequate the amount of the coverage shall be adjusted accordingly. And further, the Excelsior Fire District shall carry liability insurance in an amount no less than $ 1,000,000.00 saving the City of Orono harmless so far as acts of 'he Excelsior Fire District and its firefighters are concerned. The Excelsior Fire District shall review the amount of the coverage annually and if determined to be inadequate, the amount of the coverage shall be adjusted accordingly. Nothing in this contract shall be construed as waiving the statutory liability limits of any city, which is a party to this contract. 7. Excelsior Fire District Operational Responsibility The Excelsior Fire District shall be responsible for managing the operation of the Excelsior Fire District, and foi managing the on-going operation and maintenance of the Proposed Navarre Firt Station. Personnel, existing Long Lake Fire Department or Excelsior Fire District, will be under direct supervision and responsibility of the Excelsior Fire District. 2% State Aid It is expressly understood by all parties the 2% State Aid for the term of this agreement shall be paid to the Excelsior Firefighter’s Association within Minnesota State Statute. Other Costs The City of Orono will provide apparatus and equipment for the fire station in Navarre at their expense with consultation of the Excelsior Fire District Fire Chief or his designate. The City of Orono will be fiscally responsible for all maintenance of facilities, apparatus, and equipment. The City of Orono will assume the costs of training, equipment and testing all new recruits. The City of Orono will construct an appropriate 6,000 square foot fire station on city land in the area of the “Navarre” neighborhood at their expense with the consulting ser\ ices of the Excelsior Fire District Fire Chief
