BfMctor
Take Part - Give Part
Founded in 2000, ihc Orono Alliance's goal is to provide private support of public education.
Specifically, the mission of the Orono Alliance is to preser\-e and enhance the quality of student
education by significantly increasing the revenue and other resources available to the Orono
Public Schools.
This year our goal is to raise $500,000. We would like to continue to support the basic needs
of the Orono schools and to provide enhanced education opportunities to our students.
Fundraising events like the upcoming Lorie Line concert in April, spring phone calling
campaign and our Alumni Association efforts will help us move toward this goal.
As you know our community passed a levy that will be committed to our schools’ total budget.
Flowever, the referendum request had to be limited by state law to approximately $*180,000 per
year. After two years of extensive budget cuts amounting to almost $1.7 million, our schools
still face a shortage of $450,000 this year. We look forward to being able to fund this gap
with your help and generous support.
Please join us in this challenge during our 2003 Annual Campaign. There is no better
investment than the education of our children.
Tamara Hmisei
Executive Director
Did you graduate from Orono?
Join the Orono Alumni Association!
Gel involved on the ground floor of this group.
W’e need help compiling alumni data for the first phase of
the directory.
